Pat McCafferty – Managing Director, Yarra Valley Water 

Pat is Managing Director of Yarra Valley Water, one of Australia’s largest water utilities providing water and sanitation services to 2M people across Melbourne’s eastern and northern suburbs, with $5B in assets, and annual turnover over $1B.

In a career spanning over 30 years in the water industry, Pat has played a lead role in the water sector in addressing critical challenges such as climate change and population growth. He has experience working in the USA water sector and Chaired an Expert Group advising the Australian Federal Government as part of the National Water Initiative.

Pat is Chair of the Water Services Association of Australia (Australia’s peak body for major urban water utilities) and Chair of the Thriving Communities Partnership (a cross-sector collaboration to improve support for the vulnerable from essential services providers); he also a member of the Monash Infrastructure Advisory Council.

For the webinar Pat will address and engage with contractors on the key initiatives they are undertaking, together with their work as part of the Melbourne Retail Water Agencies (MRWA).

Anthony James – Technical Standards Manager, CitiPower and Powercor

Anthony James is the Technical Standards Manager at CitiPower and Powercor, leading a team of engineers and technical officers who manage, develop and maintain engineering standards, material specifications and approve network assets into the business.

Anthony began his career with CitiPower and Powercor in 2005 as a graduate engineer. He spent over 7 years as a Primary Design Engineer where he worked on critical infrastructure projects to improve the electricity supply and reliability of the Melbourne CBD, including the Metro 2012 & CBD security program. Anthony also has experience in the areas of overhead and underground design and electrical plant maintenance.

In 2016 he was promoted into the role of Technical Standard Manager, where over the last 4 years a significant amount of work has been done to develop standards related to bush fire mitigation, such as the rapid earth fault current limiters (REFCL) and covered conductor.

Anthony participates in a number of VESI (Victorian Electricity Supply Industry) committees to develop electricity distribution engineering standards.

Anthony has a Bachelor of Electrical & Computer System Engineering (majoring in Power Systems) from Monash University.

For the webinar Anthony will address CCF Members on the key initiatives Powercor and the VESI Technical Standards Committee with members of the industry are undertaking in the harmonisation of VESI standards related to urban residential developments.

Jude Munro – Chair, Victorian Planning Authority 

Jude Munro is experienced in guiding large complex organisations as a non-executive director. She has served on 20 boards. She has been board chair of Australia’s fourth largest water utility, a director of a national aviation business, an airport, a development company, a bus company, and a director of one of Australia’s largest not-for-profits with a $1.3B budget running hospitals and other services. She is currently also Chair, Victorian Pride Centre Board which is building Australia’s first and iconic centre for the LGBTIQ community.

Jude also mentors CEOs. Her last CEO position was as CEO of Brisbane City Council for 10 years. She led the Council with its $2.6B annual budget, 9000 employees and delivering infrastructure projects, bus and ferry services, regulatory and other municipal services for 1.2M people. Infrastructure projects included $2.7B Clem7 tunnel, the feasibility stage of Airport Link, the Green Bridge, and Go Between bridge.

She has been made an Officer of the Order of Australia, keys to the City of Brisbane, in the Deloitte’s top 50 LGBTI executives, and awarded the IPAA Queensland Governor’s Award for excellence in the public sector.
